My husband and I were celebrating our 12th anniversary and wanted to get away somewhere close.

It also turned out to be NOT just a 30 minute wait. Neither one of those activities were easy as seating was limited and it was difficult to get a drink.

We decided to just sit and have a drink while we waited. We decided against this as the line for the bell hop desk was also long and we didn't think it would be a big deal to hold on to our bags since it was only a 30 minute wait. The clerk suggested we leave our bags at the bell hop desk and come pick them up when our room was ready. We were told that our room wasn't ready and that it would be about a 30 minute wait. When we got to the counter, it was after 3. When we got there, the line to check in was extremely long. We arrived around 2:30 for our 3:00 check-in. We reserved a room in the Sky Tower which is a new addition to the Choctaw that just opened in August 2021. The online reviews were very positive (not sure how or why) so we were excited about our visit. We chose to go to Choctaw as neither one of us had ever been and it's a short drive from our home in the DFW area.
